Birds In Alaska
Predators: Great Gray Owl
Strix nebulosa

This Great Gray owl shows classic facial markings: large face, with dark-edged rings around yellow eyes. The Great Gray owl is the largest of owls found in North America.

This Great Gray owl's wing was injured in an accident. He was being treated by the efforts of the doctors and volunteers at the Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Anchorage, Alaska. The staff at the Bird TLC do everything they can to repair and heal birds for release back into the wild. This beautiful owl will soon return to hunting in his natural habitat.
