Welcome to Birds of Interior Alaska!
Photos and field hints by Jim Gilbert

Birds of Interior Alaska began with a few photos to help my elementary school students with their bird studies but has taken on a life of its own! You are welcome to send questions by email.

Birds photographed "in-hand" were captured in mist nets, weighed, measured, banded, and released by the Alaska Bird Observatory staff and volunteers as part of ABO's songbird population research at Creamer's Field Wildlife Refuge in Fairbanks, Alaska.
