The Living Science Center was funded by an "Incentive grant" from the North Star Borough School District office of Grants and Special Services. The proposal process is very clear and Doug Crevensten made it painless.
Our mission is to involve students in creation of a variety of habitats designed to support creatures with very different lifestyles, survival methods, and body parts.

The Living Science Center provides opportunities for integrated, hands-on learning in science, math, reading, language arts, critical thinking, social skills, and puts my young scholars nose to "nose" with critters, responsibility and fun!

Students are responsible for researching, developing, and carrying out appropriate maintenance, and care protocol in each habitat. Students help maintain a science journal of actions, observations, and questions for new research for each habitat.
