Wisdom of the young ages

My name is Jim Gilbert. My students call me Mr. Gilbert or "Mr. G." I am very excited about the many wonderful possibilities this year! You can expect opportunities for group, and individual learning, several trips, special projects, and times for students to be the expert! I enjoy working with parents in the classroom, and am grateful for faithful volunteers. Tell me about volunteering.

What am I like as a teacher? I love to lead learners to discovery, sing, and play with words. I am said to be very strict, however I am also consistent and fair. I have only one rule in the classroom -- "Respect everyone, all the time!"

I am always ready and willing to work with parents and students. You can leave voicemail at 372-4144 ext 112, send an email to jgilbert@northstar.k12.ak.us or send a note with your child so we can conference as the need arises. Please understand that there are times such as, just prior to students entering the classroom, during class time, at an open house, or at dismissal time, when my duties do not permit me to conference privately with you about your child. Please jot a note, email, or leave voicemail so we can set aside some time to give my full attention to your questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Jim Gilbert.
